Hello my fellow readers, writers, and bloggers extraordinaire. I was sent this link in an email, but it may just be the funniest, cleverest example I've seen of author self promotion in a while.
The Author's Promotions
If you get time, and I hope you do, go and check out what she's done. There is humor, color coordination, and a violated refrigerator, if that piques your interest.
I don't know the author, or the book, but from what I've seen, I'll definitely go out on a limb and buy a copy. How about you guys? What do you think of her form of promotion and does it make you want to read further?

Unique, tempts me to buy the book, perhaps even knock over a liquour store so I can afford to buy the book.
I'll probably buy the book -- uniqueness deserves reward.
If nothing else, it made me think about the top of my fridge... and how long it's been since I cleaned up there.
Wow- that is indeed one of the most unique and funny promotions that I've ever seen. I don't really enjoy that kind of book, but I think I'm going to have to buy it anyway. Just to support her incredible imagination! Of course, the photo of her friends, and the fact that the "links" work would be enough to sway me. At the least, I'll be sending the link on!
what a hoot! very clever.
I too thought of the top of my fridge and how I should probably clean it!
and now I think I am going to have to utelize this method in some aspect of our homeschool! It is just too funny, too off the wall, too clever! and yes, the fact that her links work is great!
thanks for sharing this clever website w/ us!
ps. I am glad she showed how hard it was to erase the top of her fridge! :)
Hi Malcolm, wordvixen, Beth, and Skouba!!!! Isn't it about the coolest promotion you've ever seen? I don't normally buy short story compilations, either, but it's so fantastic the way she's put together that little promo, I'd just like to see it go, you know?
Okay, Silken, I'm going to look through all of your blogs and see which one to blogroll. I've already got your skouba persona here.
Thanks for stopping and commenting - pass her link to anyone you think might enjoy the imagination.
